Dr. Dudley

Welcome to Tarpon Middle School!

My name is Dr. Ray Dudley, and I am honored to serve as the proud principal of Tarpon Middle School. Since joining Pinellas County Schools in the spring of 2023, I have been continually impressed by the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community. Prior to coming to Pinellas County, I spent my entire educational career in Hillsborough County Public Schools, where I had the privilege of serving students and families in a variety of roles.

I have dedicated more than 19 years to education and have worked as a classroom teacher, school administrator across multiple grade levels, and college professor. Throughout my career, my mission has remained the same: to positively impact the lives of students and help them discover their potential. I firmly believe that education opens doors, creates opportunities, and empowers young people to achieve goals they may have once thought impossible.

My academic journey reflects my commitment to lifelong learning. I earned my bachelor's degree in History and my master's degree in Social Science Education from the University of South Florida. I later earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University and a doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of the Cumberlands.

On a personal note, I am happily married to a fellow educator, and together we have two amazing kids. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and coaching my son's Little League baseball team.

At Tarpon Middle School, my goal is to help students develop the academic skills, character, and confidence needed for success in high school and beyond. I believe that consistency, dedication, and a growth mindset are the foundations of achievement. Most importantly, I strive to build meaningful relationships with students, families, staff, and community members because strong partnerships create strong schools.

Thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I am grateful for the opportunity to serve the Tarpon Middle School community and look forward to working together to ensure every student has the support, opportunities, and encouragement needed to thrive.

Go Spartans!
